If you work alone, your main relationship development may need to be with your customers/clients.  Understanding personality types can be very valuable in these relationships.  You will find that you can recognise in people what sort of information they need to make a decision to purchase your products or to try something new - the approach they need may be quite different to the way you would like to be approached or the type of information that would help you make a decision to try a new product.

It can also be extremely useful to understand your own personality and therefore natural tendencies.  My own observation has been that many people who start up a new business have similarities in their personality types, and this aspect is something that can sometimes cause problems when you actually get to running a business.
